Like the perfect plot of a Bollywood flick, a man working as informer to the Delhi Police was shot dead by a gang of unidentified car robbers in the Sector-61 area of Noida on Tuesday afternoon, when he was leading the police to them.

Sensing the presence of police, the robbers shot him and fled the spot, "the official said. A critically injured Pramod was taken to Apollo Hospital in Delhi, where doctors declared him dead. The police said Pramod Kumar knew the members of the gang involved in car lifting and trading of used and stolen cars. The Delhi Police were on a look out for them in several cases. Senior Superintendent of Police A.K. Singh said: "Pramod was being taken by Delhi police to Sector-61 to nab some people. As he was talking to these elements and taking them towards police teams, they fired on him, after which he died."
