The prices of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/commercial-lpg-cylinder-price-hiked-by-rs-993-to-rs-307150-in-delhi-5-kg-ftl-up-by-rs-261-domestic-rates-unchanged-sources-23628364" rel="nofollow">19 kg commercial cylinders</a> have been increased by Rs 42 in Delhi, bringing the price to Rs 3113.50, according to sources.
As per ANI, the new prices will be effective from Monday, June 1.
According to the latest revision effective from Monday, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been raised by Rs 42, taking the retail selling price to Rs 3,113.50 per cylinder. In Kolkata, the increase is steeper at Rs 53.50, pushing the price to Rs 3,255.50, as per IANS.&nbsp;
The hike comes at a time when businesses are already dealing with higher fuel and transportation expenses. Oil marketing companies have also increased the price of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by Rs 11. In Delhi, a 5-kg FTL cylinder will now cost Rs 821.50. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, offering some relief to household consumers.

The impact of rising LPG costs is being felt across major cities. A 19-kg commercial cylinder now costs Rs 3,024.50 in Mumbai, Rs 3,067 in Chennai, Rs 3,294 in Hyderabad and Rs 3,322 in Patna, making several urban centres significantly more expensive for commercial fuel users.
<h2>Officials say, &lsquo;No shortage of LPG at the moment'&nbsp;</h2>
Sujata Sharma, during an inter-ministerial briefing, asserted, "Regarding strategic reserves, we are also working on the strategic reserves. And we have asked the oil marketing companies to work out that the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/government-asks-state-run-fuel-retailers-to-build-lpg-reserves-for-30-days-amid-supply-concerns-23632862" rel="nofollow">LPG reserve </a>should be a minimum of 30 days with them, and they are working on it. Similarly, for crude, we are also working," as per ANI.&nbsp;
While outlining the precautionary measures to safeguard against supply shocks, she also assured that there is no shortage at present.
"We have sufficient stock of petrol, diesel, LPG, and natural gas, but fruit inventories are tied up. All our refineries are operating at an optimum level, and LPG production is at an all-time high, almost 90 DMT per day. No dry-out has been reported on the LPG distributorship," Sharma said.
"But it is being seen in retail outlets that there are abnormal sales at many places. Some are due to agricultural demand, and some are due to bulk sales," she added.
More than 30 per cent growth is being seen overall, with 14 districts reporting over 100 per cent growth in petrol sales, while six districts saw a 38 per cent drop in OMC sales.
<h2>Enforcement tightened to stop illegal sale of LPG cylinders</h2>
Sharma said that to check diversion, enforcement has been intensified. "In the last four days, there have been 6,500 raids on LPG. Five FIRs have been registered, and two people have been arrested," Sharma said. At retail outlets, 900 raids in two days led to the seizure of<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-fuel-crisis-fuel-price-hike-will-worsen-inflation-says-mumbai-congress-chief-varsha-gaikwad-23632169" rel="nofollow"> 417 litres of petrol</a> and 75,715 litres of diesel, with 12 FIRs and 15 arrests.
On LPG availability, Sharma further explained that production varies with refinery optimisation. "Right now, the demand is something around 72 TMT, and then we are producing 50 to 52 TMT in-house in our domestic refineries," she said, adding that the LPG backlog has come down to 4.5 days.
