Top cardiologist was treating the actor's father-in-law
Dr Ashok Seth is the undisputed King Khan of cardiology and it was no wonder when Bollywood's Badshah got his ailing father-in-law transferred from a rival hospital under Dr Seth's care.
But the man who has pioneered many a revolutionary techniques in invasive cardiology is the latest victim of the Aedes Aegypti.
The giant slayer is a mosquito that carries Dengue on its tentacles. According to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute sources, the top cardiologist in the country is undergoing treatment for the vector-borne disease.
"Dr Seth is suffering from Dengue and is not coming to the hospital for the last three- four days," the sources said. However, the hospital is yet to confirm the news, officially.
"I have to check with the department," said Ranjana Smetacek, Director, Marketing and Corporate Communication, Fortis Healthcare.
Dr Seth is chairman of the Invasive cardiology, Cardiology Department in Fortis Escorts Health Institute. His name features in the 'Limca Book of Records' for having conducted the highest number of angiograms (50,000) and angioplasties (20,000) in the world.

Dr Ashok Seth was the purported reason behind the transfer of RP Chibba, Shah Rukh Khan's father-in-law, from the Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, after Chibba suffered a heart attack.
Dr Seth raised quite a bit of dust in the cardiology fraternity when he decided to part ways in 2004 with Escorts Heart Institute - an institution he helped co-build over 16 years. Dr Ashok Seth took over as the chairman of Max Devki Devi Heart & Vascular Institute in New Delhi. His career, however, came a full circle when he re-joined Escorts Heart Institute in 2008.
