Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Dhanteras, wishing them happiness, prosperity, and good health. Emphasising the festival’s significance in representing both Dharma and Artha in India’s eternal Hindu tradition, he also noted that Dhanteras marks the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari. CM Yogi expressed hope for continued economic growth in Uttar Pradesh.
On the occasion of Dhanteras, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt wishes to the people of the state, expressing hopes for their happiness, prosperity, and well-being.
In a post on X, the UP Chief Minister’s Office wrote, “UPCM myogiadityanath has extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of the state on Dhanteras and wished for their happiness and prosperity. The Chief Minister said that Dhanteras, in the Purushartha Chatushtaya of India’s eternal Hindu tradition, represents not only Dharma but also Artha. Dhanteras also marks the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health.”

The post further added, “Happiness and prosperity can only be achieved through good health. May Lord Dhanvantari bring joy and well-being to all the people of the state. I also wish for Uttar Pradesh to emerge as the country’s leading state economically.”
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also extended Dhanteras greetings, calling on citizens to promote prosperity, harmony, and environmental protection.
In his message on X, Birla wrote, “Heartfelt greetings to all fellow citizens on the auspicious arrival of the Deepotsav festival, Dhanteras. May the blessings of Maa Lakshmi fill every home with wealth, prosperity, and radiance. With the grace of Lord Dhanvantari, may everyone remain healthy and long-lived. Along with personal progress, let us strive to make our nation eternally glorious, protect the environment, and promote social harmony. Wishing everyone an auspicious Dhanteras.”
Dhanteras marks the beginning of Diwali and is observed on the thirteenth lunar day of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase) in the month of Aaswayuja, as per the Amaavasyanta Luni-Solar Hindu calendar.
The day is considered highly auspicious for purchases, especially of gold, silver, and utensils. Devotees worship Lord Siddhi Vinayak (Ganesha), Goddess Mahalakshmi, and Lord Kuber—the deities of wisdom, wealth, and prosperity, respectively.
Lord Dhanvantari, also worshipped on Dhanteras, is regarded as the god of Ayurveda and health. He is believed to have imparted the science of medicine to humanity to help rid mankind of disease.
PM Modi extends Dhanteras greetings, wishes health and prosperity for all
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the nation on Dhanteras, the festival that marks the beginning of Diwali celebrations.
"Many happy Dhanteras wishes to all my family members across the country. On this auspicious occasion, I wish everyone happiness, good fortune, and health," Modi said in a post in Hindi on X.
"May Lord Dhanvantari shower his bountiful blessings on everyone," the Prime Minister added.
