A 31-year-old city-based drummer, Sachin Dhande, who performs with a musical band registered a case against fellow orchestra member for cheating him to the tune of Rs 47,000. The case was registered with Bhosari police station on Tuesday night.u00a0Three months ago Dhande was accosted by a person, who posed as a sleuth from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and said that the bike he was riding was stolen and threatened to register a case against Dhande. Terrified of the consequences, Dhande gave him Rs 47,000 cash to save his skin.u00a0

However, the matter came to light when recently Dhande spotted the same man with one of his orchestra member, Abhijeet Gaikwad and started investigating the turn of events. Turns out,Gaikwad had informed the man, who posed as an ACB officialthat Dhande was easy to dupe as he is timid. After finding out about the incident, Dhande lodged a complaint with the local police.u00a0“I have been working as a drummer with a local musical orchestra group in the city and Abhijeet works as a keyboard player in the same group and I am shocked that he was behind the entire conspiracy,” said Dhande. The suspect, who’s name cropped up during Gaikwad’s interrogation has been identified as Anil alias William Andres Gajbhiye (45) a resident of Dapodi.
