Elephants raid Burdwan village, kill one

<p>A herd of wild elephants raided Pursha village under Galsi police station in Burdwan district killing a man and injuring his wife besides damaging several houses, DFO Ajay Das said on Friday</p>

Burdwan: A herd of wild elephants raided Pursha village under Galsi police station in Burdwan district killing a man and injuring his wife besides damaging several houses, DFO Ajay Das said on Friday.
Nanulal Soren (64) and his wife Phulmani were sleeping on the verandah last night when an elephant trampled them. While Nanulal died, Phulmani was under treatment in hospital, Das said.
