Failed live-in relationships are fuelling rape cases: Delhi police commissioner

New Delhi: Failed live-in relationships and non-fulfilment of promises of marriage despite having physical relations, are major reasons behind the rise in rape cases registered by Delhi Police, according to Commissioner of Police B S Bassi.

“At least 25 per cent of the total 1,656 rape cases registered so far by Delhi Police have been because of failed live-in partnerships and the refusal to marry,” the CP said.
