some important documents reportedly went missing from a cupboard at the Shivaji Nagar Remand Home
A Day after Preet Mandir allegedly managed to obtain a stay order from the high court on the shifting of children out of the adoption home, some important documents reportedly went missing from a cupboard at the Shivaji Nagar Remand Home.
Child Welfare Committee (CWC) members fear a special file prepared by them on Preet Mandir in accordance with the instructions of investigating officers of the CBI is among the papers misplaced.
CWC chief blamed
The remand home superintendent filed a case against CWC chairperson Vijaya Sankpal, who had taken some documents out from the cupboard to study them. "We had compiled documents on children declared destitute by unwed mothers, those in the process of adoption, and children sent by CWCs of other districts to Preet Mandir," said CWC member Jaywant Sarode. "We are worried that file was also taken out by the chairperson on Saturday."
Sankpal later reportedly told members she had taken a procedure ledger with minutes of CWC meetings, including the order to transfer 74 children from Preet Mandir's Kalyaninagar centre.
