The south Delhi Police have finally registered a case against the constable who had molested an Additional Sub Inspector (ASI) at her Lodhi Colony residence. MiD DAY had first reported the incident on December 10 last year.

A senior police officer said that the FIR was registered against constable Narender who is presently posted at Malviya Nagar. "Narender has been booked under Sections 451(illegal trespass) 354(molestation) 323(voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (common intention) of IPC. He was the ASI'su00a0 neighbour at the Police Colony in Lodhi Colony," said the officer.

The officer added that they have also lodged an FIR against the ASI on the basis of the complaint by the accused constable. "He (Narender) has alleged that he was beaten up by ASI," said the officer. Meanwhile, speaking with MiD DAY, the ASI alleged that some senior cops were sheltering the constable and trying to frame her instead of taking action against him.
