After several issues during the online registration process of Mumbai University's first year degree admissions; Mumbai colleges declared their first merit list on Saturday evening. The cut-offs continue to remain as high as above 95 per cent in popular city colleges. However, according to college authorities, there is no reason of panic because first merit lists had multiple allocations that resulted in high cut-offs. Students are advised to wait till second merit list to get clearer picture.
Dr. Manju Nichani, principalof K C College, said, "In the first merit list the cut-offs are incredibly high. But we will get a clear picture only after second merit list. High scorers mostly apply to multiple colleges and several courses, to try their luck in all streams. But once students from the first list confirm admissions the second list brings clarity on competition and so students need not panic after seeing first merit list cut-off of different colleges."
