Lalit Modi's travel papers - June 2015 External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was at the centre of a row after admitting to having helped former IPL chief Lalit Modi procure documents to travel to Portugal last July on 'humanitarian grounds'. Where the BJP came out in support of Swaraj, Congress demanded her resignation. The senior minister faced flak for having helped Lalit Modi procure documents to travel to Portugal in 2014. Pushing for declaring Bhagwad Gita as a national scripture, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said only a formal announcement remained in this regard, sparking a controversy with TMC and and Congress coming out with sharp responses. The original request was made by VHP President Ashok Singhal who wanted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately declare the sacred text of Hindus as a national scripture. Dancing at Gandhi Memorial - 2011 Sushma Swaraj, the then leader of opposition sparked controversy when visuals of her dancing at Mahatma Gandhi&rsquo;s Samadhi while on a protest at Rajghat was aired on television channels.
