Raipur: Four Naxals have been arrested from the insurgency-hit Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Saturday.


The cadres were nabbed from Bhansi Police Station area on Friday based on a specific inputs about their movement in the region, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashayp said.


Those arrested were identified as Sai alias Sahi (30), Kama Telami (27), Laxman (30) and Rajesh (35), all lower rung members, he added. A police team swung into action after receiving information that the cadres after coming to know that they were under police scanner, were trying to move out of Bhansi area.


They were later rounded up near Bhansi village, the SP said. The outlaws were involved in torching an OHE engine of railway on October 25 this year, dismantling a government school building in the month of August besides several other Maoists incidents, the SP said. The arrested are being interrogated, he added.
