God of War III kicks off at the exact point that the second game ends, with the prophetic words -- "The End Begins". This is the first God of War game to hit Playstation 3. The story continues with Kratos's burning desire for revenge and the destruction of Olympus.



What most of us were really hoping for was a bold explosion to close the series with a bang, and this is exactly what the game achieves. Levels vary from closed interiors to vast open spaces with immense visual detail that is all bathed in some of the best lighting you will have ever seen on your Playstation 3. This visual powerhouse is supported by a great soundtrack, booming sound and great voiceovers. I worked through it at a decent pace on the normal difficulty level and managed somewhere around seven-and-a-half hours.

Parents, keep in mind that God of War III is a breathtakingly violent game. In fact, it's one of the most violent videogames I've ever played. Even if you allow your teens to play M-rated games, this one I do not recommend.
That said, God of War III, which has made a grand debut on the PS3, proves its series' worth once more. This tale of revenge earns itself a place in the ranks of PS3 titles that you just have to own.
