Not only Bangalore, the festival will also grace other districts like Bidar, Dharwar, Shimoga and Mangalore throughout the month.
Sharing that the movies to be shown in Bangalore are chosen with special care, TS Nagabharana, chairman of KCRA says, "This is the first time that something like this has been organised in Bangalore. Here the city is already exposed to a lot of different kinds of films but our selection aims to show them experimentation in cinema. The idea is to develop a taste for films that don't have a regular narrative style."
According to HN Narahari Rao, FFSI director and artistic director of the festival, the event is also designed to promote good cinema in the rural states of Karnataka. The festival is entirely on DVD format and will include 100 titles from nearly 20 countries.
Explaining that the DVD format was also chosen to encourage youngsters to shoot short digital films of various kinds, Rao says, "While for rural areas, we are showing films that are even 10-years-old, Bangalore will see fresh films from Taiwan, Korea and other countries that have never been showcased before."
So if you are ready to take a break from the regular films and are open to witness conventional stories narrated in an unconventional way on screen, then this festival is meant for you.
