Sharabi Prawns and spicy Seekhs at their reddest, crispiest best wait to be devoured pirate style at a new Rajouri garden bistro

A garma garam grill, bustling buffet and cool graffiti make for a good package, considering it all comes under half a grand. Add to it great company and beautiful weather, and you're quite there. The busy lanes of Rajouri Garden have just given birth to a 'pirated' place, one where bindaas barbeque meets bright lights and sights. We fixed a date with Pirates of Grill, and had a great time making merry.

Pick trick: The buffet here is a hit

Food
The buffet format serves as a blessing in disguise, since it allows you to indulge in a variety of North Indian favs like chicken tikkas, mutton seekh and spicy potato-paneer preparations without big bills. "Though we specialise in North Indian, we do have a few continental and Oriental dishes, too. When we started the restaurant, we decided to offer grills from different cuisines, but later, we realised that people here want to stick to the spicy, desi versions. So, we made the necessary alterations. There's no use serving what no one wants," says owner Inderjit Singh Banga.u00a0

A live grill sits in the centre of your table, and there begins the journey. A selection of non-vegetarian and vegetarian starters, depending on the day's menu, make for a good beginning. The grill servings are unlimited, and pretty much fill half the tummy. Nevertheless, we managed sizzling achaari murg, lip-smacking Peshawari fish, tempting 'sharabi' prawns, and delectable lettuce chicken wraps. Heaven. In the veg section, we relished stuffed mushrooms, pellets of spicy fried potatoes served with fiery red chutney, pok choy black mushroom dumpling and crispy vegetable pouches. The main course collage that we couldn't make space for: dal makhani, veg noodles, mutton korma and chicken biryani. However, desserts like strawberry cheesecake, mango charlotte, chocolate mousse, moong dal halwa and gulabjamun were simply inescapable.u00a0
