Brick made of yellow metal stolen from man in the bus

One kilogram of gold worth Rs 20 lakh was reportedly stolen from inside the Bikaner House on Tilak Marg area of New Delhi.

According to a senior police official,u00a0 city resident Jogeshwar Tiwari, who works for two jewellers, informed the police that a brick of gold which he had purchased from Jaipur was stolen from his bag by someone in Bikaner House.

"On January 29, he had gone to Jaipur where he purchased a 24-carat gold brick and then returned to Delhi in a Rajasthan Roadways bus. At around 5 am, he arrived at Bikaner House and after sometime when he looked into his bag, he found the gold brick missing," the official said.

Sources said that though the incident had taken place on January 29, police registered an FIR only last Saturday. "We were not sure about the incident.

A police team was sent to Jaipur to ascertain whether the victim had purchased the gold or not. After it was confirmed, we filed a case," said a police source. Police said that they did not suspect Jogeshwar to be involved in it.
