File pics</td></tr></tbody></table>According to the GR, wine companies can now open as many outlets as they want across the state. They can either sell their products or wines from other companies. This is great news for 60 wineries spread across the state. Till now, wines were only available at alcohol stores.u00a0 "These companies can now not only directly open their outlets but they can open as many as they want. But they need permission from the superintendent of excise department. The number can vary within the city also," said Vijay Chinchalkar, superintendent of excise department. "This will help the companies to spread their business and also help them financially because they would not be required to sell their products at an alcohol store. We have not received any application so far because it too early. But we believe that they will start coming soon." Encouraging sales The wineries are also happy with the decision and believe that it will help wine become popular among the masses. Experts expect a rise of 30 per cent in wine consumption. An official from a popular wine brand requesting anonymity said the news was true but they haven't taken any decision on it. Gopal Jadhav, COO, Vinsura Wines said, "This a helpful decision that the excise department has taken and I believe that it will be beneficial to us. Wines are getting very popular and its growth is enormous. With open access, the sales are expected to even increase further."
