<p>Authorities in Gurugram have advised corporate offices, government and private schools, and other institutions to encourage their employees and staff to work from home on August 25 following <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/delhi-rains-more-than-a-dozen-flights-rerouted-amid-heavy-showers-and-thunderstorms-23646382" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>heavy rainfall and concerns over waterlogging and traffic congestion</strong></a>, reported the ANI.</p>
<p>The advisory was issued by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Gurugram, on Monday.</p>
<p>Gurugram received heavy rainfall on August 24, with several areas reporting waterlogging.</p>
<p>The district administration said further disruption could affect traffic movement and lead to congestion on roads.</p>
<p>In view of the situation, offices and educational institutions have been advised to allow their employees and staff to work from home on Tuesday.</p>
<h2>Advisory aims to ease traffic</h2>
<p>The administration said the work-from-home measure is intended to reduce the number of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/uttar-pradesh-rains-three-kids-among-seven-rescued-by-cisf-from-flooded-ntpc-township-23645531" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>vehicles on the roads and ease traffic congestion</strong></a>.</p>
<p>It will also allow civic agencies to carry out repair and maintenance work on roads and drains more efficiently without facing additional traffic pressure.</p>
<h2>Citizens asked to plan travel</h2>
<p>The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has appealed to residents to cooperate with the advisory and plan their travel accordingly.</p>
<p>The administration has also circulated the advisory to the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) for wider publicity.</p>
<p>It has been sent to the District Education Officer and District Elementary Education Officer (DEO/DEEO) to communicate the guidance to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/heavy-rain-schools-closed-in-bhopal-guna-as-mp-remains-on-alert--23644363" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>government and private educational institutions</strong></a>.</p>

<p>The administration's guidance comes amid concerns over continued waterlogging and traffic disruption following Monday's heavy rainfall.</p>
<p>Residents have been advised to stay updated on local conditions and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of severe waterlogging.</p>

<h2>Heavy rain lashes Delhi-NCR</h2>
<p>Meanwhile, heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Monday, causing widespread waterlogging, traffic congestion and disruption to flight operations, according to the IANS.</p>
<p>The downpour affected road movement across the national capital, while authorities in Gurugram advised offices to allow employees to work from home and schools to shift to online classes as a precaution.</p>
<p>In Tughlakabad, heavy rainfall led to around two feet of waterlogging at a Delhi Development Authority (DDA) park. Roads surrounding the area were also inundated, affecting movement.</p>
<p>Najafgarh also witnessed significant waterlogging following the heavy downpour, with several stretches affected by accumulated rainwater.</p>
<h2>Roads around Shivaji Stadium submerged</h2>
<p>Heavy waterlogging was reported on Baba Kharak Singh Marg in the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/ndmc-clears-60-tonnes-of-waste-after-cjp-protest-ends-at-jantar-mantar-23641734" target="_blank" rel="none noopener"><strong>New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)</strong></a> area.</p>
<p>Roads around Shivaji Stadium were submerged, affecting traffic movement and causing inconvenience to commuters.</p>
<p>Similar conditions were reported at the Zakhira underpass, where heavy rain led to the accumulation of water and disrupted traffic.</p>
<h2>Flight operations also affected</h2>
<p>The heavy rain and adverse weather conditions also disrupted flight operations in the Delhi-NCR region, with several flights delayed or diverted, as per the IANS.</p>
<p>Authorities and civic agencies continued to monitor the situation as heavy rainfall affected multiple parts of the region.</p>
