Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and MP Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday held the BJP-led government responsible for the rising number of examination paper leak cases, claiming that the highest number of such incidents had occurred during its tenure and that public anger over the issue had led to the large gathering of youth at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav questioned the effectiveness of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, arguing that the government should first explain the action taken under the existing legislation before introducing further amendments.
