Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday visited relief camps, flood-affected villages and educational institutions in Sivasagar district as part of his five-day tour of Upper Assam to assess the damage caused by the recent floods and review ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.

The Chief Minister began his visit at a relief camp set up on the campus of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology in Sivasagar, where he interacted with displaced families and reviewed the facilities being provided to them. He instructed district officials to ensure uninterrupted access to food, safe drinking water, healthcare services and other essential amenities, particularly for children, senior citizens and women staying at the camp.
