Hindustani classical singer Gangubai Hangal dead

Hindustani music exponent Gangubai Hangal died in Karnataka's Hubli town Tuesday morning following cardiac and respiratory problems, family sources said. She was 97.

Hindustani music exponent Gangubai Hangal died in Karnataka's Hubli town Tuesday morning following cardiac and respiratory problems, family sources said. She was 97.

Hangal died at 7.10 a.m. at the Lifeline Emergency Care Centre in Hubli, about 480 km from here. Close family members, including her three sons and two daughters, were by her side.
