Unidentified culprits fail to locate real jewellery, make away with imitation stuff A 27-year-old housewife was drugged by two unidentified people who had entered her home with the intention of robbery, but she still did not lose her gold ornaments as the culprits could not find where they were hidden. The robbers made away with some imitation jewellery instead. The incident took place at Badshah Imarat on the Pune-Satara road on Wednesday evening. The suspects failed to find any gold ornaments as their victim, Deepali Yuvraj Shah, had hidden these in an inconspicuous compartment of the cupboard. The police prepared a sketch of the two robbers based on a description provided by Shah when she filed the complaint at the Swargate police station. Door left open "Shah was in her changing room, getting ready to go out and the door of the house was not latched from inside. When she stepped into the bedroom she saw two youths, one of whom had opened the cupboard and was rifling through it," Assistant Police Inspector Yashwant Kadam said. "Shah screamed for help, after which the robbers grabbed her neck and banged her against the wall. They then tied a handkerchief around her neck and pressed another handkerchief on her nose, after which she fell unconscious." The officer said the incident came to light a while later when Shah's husband got worried over her not answering the phone. "Shah's husband Yuvraj tried calling her from his office, but she did not respond. Yuvraj then asked a neighbour to go and see where she was and the neighbour informed him that she was lying on the floor, unconscious. Deepali was then taken to the Poona Hospital," Kadam said.
