In a bid to educate their students about their constitutional rights, Modern college of engineering organised an interactive seminar, urging them to stand up and fight for their rights and make use of the tools available to them in the form of RTI at their college.

More than 300 students were present to listen to Vivek Velankar, an RTI activist and social worker, who spoke to the students on the benefits of the RTI and why they need to come forward and participate in governance.u00a0

Velankar asked the students to be vigilant. He narrated his experiences of how useful RTI can be as a weapon to expose corruption in governance.

On talking to one of the students from modern college, Rutagya Bhalla (20), said, "It was an enlightening session.

The guest spoke about the advantages of RTI in social life. We have read about RTI several times but never took it seriously. But today's session was an eye opener."
