Hyderabad Police dismiss salt shortage rumours, warn action

Hyderabad: Rumours of salt shortage led to panic among citizens in some parts of the city late last night, but police asserted that such information was baseless and warned those spreading such rumours. People mobbed shops late last night and this morning following the rumours and traders sold salt for Rs 80 and Rs 100 per kg at some places, some city residents claimed. Rumours of shortage of sugar also did the rounds in the city.
