Rejecting the suicide theory and suspecting murder, family of the IAS officer who died under mysterious circumstances today demanded a CBI probe as public anger over the incident swept across the state.

Upping the ante, the opposition continued their nightlong dharna in the Assembly, insisting on a CBI probe, stalling the proceedings for the second day after the government announced an investigation by CID which was seen by BJP and JDS as an attempt to "hush up" the case to protect "hidden forces."
