Unprecedented hike expected in IGNOU's enrollment as varsity signs MoU to set up IGNOU-Army Colleges

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is set to exponentially increase its student enrollment from 25 lakh in 2009 to 37 lakh in January 2010.

The university is expected to add 12 lakh students by next year, because of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between IGNOU and the Army for establishment of IGNOU-Army Community Colleges.u00a0u00a0

This announcement was made by Professoru00a0 VN Rajasekharan Pillai, vice-chancellor, IGNOU, in his address to officials regarding the initiatives being taken to celebrate IGNOU's Silver Jubilee, starting November 19.
