II PU results out, 50.88 pc students pass exam
The results of the second-year Pre-University Course examination held in March 2009 are out. The overall pass percentage this year is 50.88, with 2, 17,132 clearing the exam. The pass percentage has improved by 9 per cent compared with the previous year (41. 31 per cent).
Again this year, girls have fared better than boys. Also, there is not much difference in terms of performance between students from urban and rural areas.
Dakshina Kannada (80.90 per cent), Udupi (80.62) and Uttara Kannada (66 per cent) have secured the top three places in terms of pass percentage. Bangalore Urban and Bangalore Rural have recorded a pass percentage of 61 per cent and 47.03 per cent respectively.
Photocopy of answer scripts
Studentsu00a0 may obtain a photocopy of their answer script if the marks obtained by students are not up to their expectation. The students may get it reviewed by subject experts.
Students may also apply for re-evaluation. An expert committee of three lecturers will do re-evaluation and award marks.
The supplementary examination will be held in June to ensure that they are allowed to continue their higher education in the same academic year.
