In a first, Delhi Police to feature all-women contingent in Republic Day Parade 2024

Delhi Police's all-women contingent will march for the first time at the Republic Day parade on January 26 to promote gender equality and women's empowerment within the force.

The forthcoming Republic Day parade on January 26 will be a historic event, as the Delhi Police's all-women contingent will march along the Kartavya Path for the first time. The initiative aims to promote gender equality and women's empowerment within the force stated a report in PTI.
According to the report, the trailblazing all-women contingent, led by Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Shweta K Sugathan, will consist of 194 female head constables and constables in total. Every day, the dedicated group practices diligently on the Kartyava Path, preparing to create a lasting impression at the parade.
