Government to spend the amount in the next seven years to upgrade domestic security setup
America spent billions to create a virtual shield around the country after the attacks of September 11, 2001.
Now, India is set to embark on a spending blitz. Taking cue from the Mumbai terror attacks, the government has sanctioned a whopping $10-billion to revamp internal security of the country.
In next seven years the money will be spent on modernizing and upgrading security forces, including the Army and paramilitary in a comprehensive manner. Besides adding to their strength, investment in new technologies and state-of-the-art equipment will be made to guard the country.
