India steps up Nepal flood aid, sends second flight with 37.5 tonnes of supplies

Police said the remains were recovered from riverbanks across several downstream districts along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems. The affected districts include Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, Gorkha, Tanahu, Nawalparasi East and Nawalparasi West

India on Thursday dispatched a second flight carrying 37.5 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, medicines and food packets to Nepal as the neighbouring country continues to deal with the aftermath of devastating flash floods that have claimed more than 160 lives and left hundreds missing.

Second consignment sent to Nepal

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said India remains committed to supporting Nepal's rescue and relief operations.
