The Indian Army’s anti-terror operation in Kishtwar’s Dul area entered its second day after a gunfight with terrorists on Sunday. Troops are conducting an intelligence-based mission amid heightened tension. The operation follows the loss of two soldiers in a separate Kulgam encounter last week, where one terrorist was neutralised.

After the Indian security forces' gunfire at the terrorist on Sunday, the operation to counter terrorists in the valley continues on Monday as well. The Indian Army on Monday, while continuing their anti-terror operation launched in the general area of Dul in Kishtwar, exchanged gunfire with the security forces and terrorists.

However, the live details of the operation are not yet available, but the situation in Kishtwar does not look peaceful. The deferred visuals from Kishtwar showed army soldiers keeping guard a day after gunfire was exchanged while establishing contact with terrorists on August 10, as per the news agency ANI.

While addressing the operation which has been going on in the Kishtwar region, the White Knight Corps on their social media account posted that the troops are conducting an intelligence-based operation to establish contact with terrorists in the area.

The post added, “Contact with #Terrorists Alert Indian Army troops, while carrying out an intelligence-based operation, have established contact with terrorists in the general area of Dul in Kishtwar in the early hours of 10 Aug 2025. Gunfire was exchanged. Operation in progress.”

The anti-terror operation in the Kishtwar region was launched a day after two soldiers, Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, were killed in the line of duty during another operation in South Kashmir's Kulgam district. To honour the contribution of both the soldiers who unfortunately lost their lives protecting the country, the Chinar Corps paid tribute to them, noting their courage and dedication.

While paying tribute to Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, "Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of the Bravehearts, L/Nk Pritpal Singh and Sep Harminder Singh, in line of duty for the Nation. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us. The Indian Army expresses its deepest condolences and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families. Operation continues," the Army's Chinar Corps posted on X.

As reported by the news agency ANI, so far, one terrorist has been neutralised in the Kulgam operation, during a gunfight in the Akhal area nearly a week ago. The counterterrorism operation was done in coordination with the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG), which continued overnight.

In an earlier post, Chinar Corps also stated, "OP AKHAL, Kulgam. Intermittent and intense firefights continued through the night. Alert troops responded with calibrated fire and tightened the noose while maintaining contact," as cited by news agency ANI.
