Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday conducted raids in Kishtwar district, an official confirmed.

The searches were carried out at the homes of individuals suspected of being linked to Pakistan-based terror operatives, reported ANI.

In a separate counter-terrorism operation, two Army jawans lost their lives during the ninth day of an ongoing operation in the Akhal Devsar area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said.

The Chinar Corps paid tribute to Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation, reported ANI.

"Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of the Bravehearts, L/Nk Pritpal Singh and Sep Harminder Singh, in line of duty for the Nation. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us. Indian Army expresses deepest condolences and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families. Operation continues," Chinar Corps posted on X.

So far, one terrorist has been neutralised in the Kulgam operation. Nearly a week earlier, security forces had killed another terrorist during an overnight encounter in the same Akhal area, according to the Chinar Corps.

The operation in Kulgam is a joint effort involving the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG). In an update on X, Chinar Corps said, "OP AKHAL, Kulgam. Intermittent and intense firefight continued through the night. Alert troops responded with calibrated fire and tightened the noose while maintaining contact.," reported ANI.

"One terrorist has been neutralised by the security forces so far. Operation continues," the post added.

In another development, Baramulla Police uncovered a terrorist hideout in the Gogaldara-Danwas forest on Thursday. The raid led to the recovery of a grenade, a pistol, a magazine, nine rounds of ammunition, and medical supplies.

Sharing the update on X, Baramulla Police wrote, "On a specific input in the Gogaldara-Danwas forest, Baramulla Police busted a terrorist hideout. Recovered: 1 Pistol, 1 Mag, nine rounds, one grenade & medical supplies. FIR registered at PS Tangmarg. Investigation underway." Further details are awaited in the case, reported ANI.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps on July 30 in the Poonch sector, two terror operatives were killed while attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC).
