Japanese firm set to bag Metro line III project?

The delegation of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) bank along with four leading metro rail companies on Monday gave a presentation to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz underground Metro line III.

During the presentation, the companies informed the planning authority that the advantage in giving the contract of constructing the metro to Japanese companies is that the firms are more technically sound and would complete the project before the deadline.u00a0

Metropolitan commissioner Rahul Asthana said, “The JICA delegation, minister of external affairs Japan and the companies from Japan have given their presentation to us about how they will implement the project if they get a chance to do it. We are pleased with the presentation and during the presentation they also told us that their technology is one of the best in the world and if given a chance they will see to it that the metro rail construction is completed in the stipulated time frame.”
