Jaya seeks PM's intervention to end NLC strike

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention to end the strike by trade unions of Neyveli Lignite Corporation 'at the earliest' in the interest of the industrial climate of the state and also in ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa told Modi in a letter yesterday that Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited is one of the main sources of power for Tamil Nadu and about 1450 mw is procured by the state from the NLC Complex.
