In an extremely horrifying incident at Jharkhand’s Dumka, a man, his wife and their two children were found dead inside a house on Sunday morning, police said.

As per the police officials, this extremely devastating incident occurred at Bardahi village in the Hansdiha police station area.


Tarachand, officer in charge of the Hansdiha police station, while emphasising the incident, further stated that, “We recovered four bodies from the house. Preliminary investigation suggests that the man allegedly strangled his wife and two children before hanging himself. Our investigation is underway," as cited by news agency PTI. 



The station in-charge further said that, “The deceased have been identified as Virendra Manjhi (30), his wife Aarti Kumari (26), their daughter Ruhi Kumari (4), and son Viraj Kumar (2).”

Tarachand also asserted that the bodies of the woman and two children were found inside the house, while the man was found hanging from a tree near their home, reported PTI. 

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to Phulo-Jhano Medical College and Hospital, Dumka, and further investigation into the matter from all angles has been initiated by the police officials. 

Two killed, five injured as SUV crashes into truck

In another extremely unfortunate incident in Maharashtra, two men were killed and five others were injured when their SUV rammed into a container truck on the JNPA-Panvel road in Raigad district on Saturday, police said, reported news agency PTI.

The SUV was reportedly speeding when it crashed into the truck from behind on the busy stretch, leading to the death of Hitendra Sanjay Patil (22) and Shrinath Chandralekhar (22), an official said, adding that the deceased were residents of Navi Mumbai.

Moreover, the police have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and invoked provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

"Preliminary findings indicate rash and negligent driving. Further investigation is in progress," a Panvel Police official said while addressing the horrific incident which took the lives of two people. 

In another incident on Friday, four persons were killed and three others injured after a car collided with some two-wheelers and overturned on a flyover in Ambarnath town of Maharashtra's Thane district, police said.
