Delhi police on Friday suspended 11 police personnel who were on duty in Police Control Room vans and police pickets in Rohini district of north west Delhi at the time of the Kanjhawala dragging incident.

Following the submission of the report by an investigative team led by Special Commissioner Shalini Singh, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) ordered Delhi Police to suspend all of its personnel stationed along the road.
"As approved by the competent authority, a total of 11 policemen of Rohini district deployed on the route at PCRs and pickets have been suspended in view of the Sultanpuri incident," a senior police officer said.
According to Delhi police, the accident happened between 2.04 and 2.06 am, however the body was discovered 10 to 12 kilometres away from the scene of the accident.
"It is not possible to determine for how long the body was carried, but the distance from the scene of the event and the location where the body was found is approximately 10 to 12 kilometres," Special commissioner Sagar Preet Hooda said.
The victim's postmortem records noted that she had at least 40 injuries throughout her body in addition to missing brain tissue, a cracked spine, exposed ribs from the rear of the chest, and an open skull cavity.
The provisional cause of death was determined by a panel of medical professionals from Maulana Azad Medical College to be "shock and haemorrhage as a result of antemortem damage to the head, spine, left femur, and both lower limbs."
