<p>As many as 116 more people, mostly students, from SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital in Dharwad of Karnataka, have tested positive for COVID-19, taking the total number of infections there to 182, official sources said on Friday.</p>
<p>Two hostels of the institution were sealed on Thursday, after 66 medical students had tested positive.</p>
<p>According to official sources, 690 people including students, staff and primary contacts have been tested so far.</p>
<p>Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil on Thursday had said, a students&rsquo; event almost a week ago, might have resulted in the spread of COVID infections.</p>
<p>Noting that some parents had also attended the event, officials said, all parents who attended have also been asked to undergo tests.</p>
<p>All those who tested positive have been isolated, they said, adding that those infected were all fully vaccinated, and have shown very mild symptoms.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Eleven of the 48 Indian Forest Service officers, who had gone for a mid-career training programme to Lucknow from Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy in Dehradun, have tested positive for COVID-19 on their return, in yet another case of cluster infection.&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Explain stand on booster: HC to govt</h2>
<p>New Delhi: &nbsp;The Delhi High Court has directed the Centre to clarify its stand on administering a booster dose to those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, saying it does not want a second-wave-like situation on account of being conservative.</p>
<p>A bench headed by Justice Vipin Sanghi observed that while the western countries are advocating the administration of a booster dose, Indian experts were of the view that there was no medical evidence to support it. &ldquo;We need to know from experts. It should not be based on economics...,&rdquo; said the bench also comprising Justice Jasmeet Singh.</p>
