Public Ganeshotsav celebrations at Lal Chowk in Srinagar were revived in 2022 after a gap of 34 years. Over the past three years, the festival has been celebrated at several locations across the Valley. This year, organisers are planning to expand the celebrations across four to five districts

The three idols were handed over to Kashmir-based representatives Mohit Bhan, Rishabh Chaku, Shishant Chaku, Sandeep Raina, Sanjeev Raina, Hitesh Raina and Sandeep Kaul. PIC/BY SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT
Undeterred by death threats allegedly issued by terrorist organisations to activists organising public Ganeshotsav celebrations in the Kashmir Valley, Ganesh mandals in the region have decided to celebrate the festival with renewed enthusiasm this year.
Against this backdrop, idols of Pune’s three revered 'Manache' Ganpatis — Shri Kasba Ganpati, Shri Tambdi Jogeshwari, and Ganpati Guruji Talim — were ceremonially worshipped and handed over to representatives of Ganesh mandals from Kashmir.
