His remarks come amid controversy over the state&rsquo;s proposal in the 2026 budget to cut tax for low-alcohol beverages.
The state had proposed a 120 per cent sales tax on drinks containing 0.5 to 10 per cent alcohol and 175 per cent on those containing more than 10 per cent and up to 20 per cent.&nbsp;
