Kerala politician A.C.Shanmugha Das dead

Veteran Kerala politician and thrice state minister A.C. Shanmugha Das, passed away here Wednesday night following a heart failure, family sources said.

The 74-year-old was a seven time member of the state assembly from Baluserry town in Kozhikode district. He remained a legislator for 33 years.
Beginning his career as a Congressman, Das in 1978 left the Congress party along with present Defence Minister A.K.Antony and their party Congress (U) joined as an ally of the Left here.
