Konkan tops state, Mumbai third

The Mumbai division came third with a pass percentage of 88.94; the Konkan division came out on top with a pass per cent of 93.79
Mumbai division ranked third in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination which was held in March with the pass percentage of students being 88.94. Konkan ranked first with a pass percentage of 93.79 followed by Kolhapur, which had a pass percentage of 90.36. In all 14,99,276 students appeared for their SSC exams in Maharashtra and 12,51,528 passed, which included 6,69,005 boys and 5,90,523 girls. The pass percentage across nine divisions of Maharashtra was 83.48 per cent, with girls having outshined the boys.
The pass percentage for girls was 84.9 per cent, while for boys it was 82.24 per cent. In the Mumbai division too, girls raced ahead of the boys with a pass percentage of 89.58. For boys the percentage was 88.31. Mumbai division Laxmikant Pande, divisional chairman of the Mumbai board, said that of the 3,11,928 students who appeared for the exams in March, 2,77,353 students passed the exams. He added, “Mumbai divison had the highest number of students appearing for their SSC exams, and the results have been satisfactory.”
