Former Kingfisher chief and ex-chairman of United Breweries, Vijay Mallya, has garnered significant attention following his recent four-hour-long podcast interview with YouTuber Raj Shamani. The video has sparked a major buzz, leading some notable figures to publicly support Mallya's decision to share his side of the story. Among them is his close friend and former IPL commissioner, Lalit Modi, who took to social media to commend Mallya's statements.

Released on Raj Shamani's YouTube channel, the podcast swiftly became a social media phenomenon. The extensive interview has amassed over 10 million views in just five days, demonstrating its widespread reach.

Notably, Lalit Modi himself was featured in a popular podcast with Raj Shamani a few months prior, where he made headlines by revealing previously undisclosed information.

Modi reposted Mallya's social media post, expressing his unequivocal support. The former IPL commissioner re-shared the ex-United Breweries chief's message with the caption, "Well done, your story has to be told."

Earlier, Mallya had expressed his gratitude to viewers on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He thanked everyone who watched his lengthy podcast, stating, "To say that I am humbled and overwhelmed is well short of what I truly feel. A big heartfelt thank you to all those who took the time to watch my 4-hour-plus podcast with @rajshamani. 20 million views on YouTube alone in 4 days and God knows how many more reposts on Instagram and Facebook fill my heart with joy that my true factual story is being heard. May God bless you all."

During the podcast, when asked about a potential return to India, Vijay Mallya responded that he would "surely love to come back to India" if assured of his safety.

Both Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya appear to be utilizing the podcast medium as a strategic tool to connect with a wider audience and reframe their public perception.
