High drama ensued at the Bombay High Court (HC) yesterday after a lawyer, believing that a lady constable at one of the gates of the court touched her inappropriately during routine frisking, lashed out at the policewoman with a slipper. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jan/1_1.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 382px;" /> Suspicion: Advocate Rohini Dandekar being stopped by constable Jyoti Gaikwad at Gate No 5 of the High Court after the metal began beeping Rohini Dandekar &mdash; who used to be a public prosecutor three years ago &mdash; was returning to the court with other lawyers after lunch around 3 pm. The police personnel, manning gate No 5 of the court, stopped them for a security check, as the metal detector began beeping. Woman constable Jyoti Gaikwad was frisking Dandekar and examined her blouse for a suspicious object, and also asked the lawyer to allow them to check some documents she was carrying. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jan/2_1.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 362px;" /> Show cause: Dandekar shows the pins that were setting off the metal detector and was allowed to go in by Gaikwad Ultimately Dandekar was allowed to enter the court premises after the police personnel found some pins in Dandekar&rsquo;s blouse were setting off the metal detector. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/jan/3_1.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 401px;" /> Law-erred: Dandekar returns after 10 mins, threatens Gaikwad, and then takes off one of her slippers and slaps the lady constable with it. Illustrations/Amit Bandre About 10 minutes later, Dandekar returned and allegedly used inappropriate language and threatened Gaikwad and then took off one of her slippers and slapped the young woman constable with it. Other staff members rushed in and restrained Dandekar and she was arrested thereafter. The lawyer was produced before the Esplanade Court, where sources say she defiantly refused bail. She was then sent to judicial custody. &ldquo;While the constable checking her at the gate asked to see if she was carrying any metallic object in the file, Dandekar retorted that it was just one of her documents and that she should be allowed to pass. When the constable insisted that she show her the article, she got angry,&rdquo; said a police officer. &ldquo;About 10 minutes later, she came back and used filthy language to abuse the constable. She also threatened her and then took off one of her slippers and slapped the lady constable with it,&rdquo; he addedA source said, &ldquo;She told the officer recording her statement that she would &lsquo;deal with him&rsquo;. Even after being produced in court, she refused to accept bail.&rdquo; Speaking to MiD-DAY, ACP Shashikant Satav said, &ldquo;Dandekar was sent to judicial custody till January 16.&rdquo; He added that Dandekar has been charged under Section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty) and Section 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty). u00a0
