A woman lost her life in a leopard attack in Junnar (Pune district) on Tuesday. Sakhubai Hile (60) is the third such victim in the Junnar-Ambegaon region and this latest attack has spread panic among the denizens of this area. The officials have intensified their operations to avoid a human-versus-animal conflict in the region, but the presence of leopards is still creating fear among people here.
According to Junnar police, “Due to rise in temperatures in summer, the villagers are sleeping in the open space near their homes. During patrolling, forest officials, who were keeping observation, found a body around 12 midnight. It is suspected that the leopard has attacked her near her home and taken her away.”
