The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed authorities to conduct daily medical monitoring of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The court observed that the life of every citizen is precious and said all necessary efforts should be made to safeguard his health while he continues his protest.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia passed the directions while disposing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Rakesh Kumar Sahni, who had expressed concern over Wangchuk's deteriorating health during the prolonged fast.
