Mahanadi water dispute: Amit Shah to hold talks with Odisha, Chhattisgarh CMs over water sharing

The development comes days after Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met his Odisha counterpart Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar on September 20. After the meeting, Sai said there was no major dispute between the two states over Mahanadi water and expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved soon

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a meeting with the Chief Ministers of Odisha and Chhattisgarh on Thursday to push for a resolution to the long-standing Mahanadi water dispute between the two states.

The meeting is expected to focus on the equitable sharing of Mahanadi water and efforts to resolve the issue through dialogue.
