A 23-year-old man was killed by a father-son duo after he abused their neighbour over money in Nagpur district of Maharashtra, an official said on Thursday, reported the PTI.

According to the PTI, the incident took place on Wednesday when Mahesh Vitthal Bawan went to the house of a woman, located in Imambada area of the city, to recover the money that he had lent her.

The woman's neighbour Shankar Rathore (52) and his son Hrithik Rathore (22) intervened when Bawan shouted at her and verbally abused her for not returning his money, as per the PTI.

A heated exchange ensued between Bawan and the father and son. The two then allegedly stabbed Bawan to death and fled the scene, the official said.

The police have also detained a youth for allegedly helping the accused flee, he added.

Meanwhile, in an another incident, a 23-year-old woman was killed by her husband's second wife in Maharashtra's Latur district, an official said on Thursday, the PTI reported.

According to the PTI, Naveli Vitthal Kurane was fatally attacked with sharp weapons at her home in the Raje Shivainagar area of Pakharsangvi village.

The official said that there were frequent quarrels in the house after Naveli's husband Vitthal Kurane married another woman, named Nandini Dnyanoba Bande (20).

During one such fight between the two women on Wednesday, Nandini killed Naveli, the official said, as per the PTI.

While Vitthal was not at home at the time, Naveli's brother alleged that he had played a role in the murder. Based on the brother's complaint, the police on Thursday arrested Vitthal and Nandini, he added.

Meanwhile, a man allegedly stabbed his male colleague to death before hanging himself at a garment unit in Sakinaka area of Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday, police said, reported the PTI.

Prima facie, an argument between them on some issue led to the crime, an official said.

The incident came to light this morning after the owner of the garment unit, located in Sakinaka area, found the door locked from inside, a police official said.

"The owner asked a staffer to enter the unit by climbing from an adjacent shop. He spotted the body of Saddam Hussain Mohammed Ahmed Shaikh, 31, hanging on the mezzanine floor," he said.

The owner then called the police.

"Police used a cutter to break open the door to gain entry. The body of another employee, identified as Mohammed Ayyaz Nayab Ahmed Shaikh, 22, was found lying with injuries," the official said, the news agency reported on Wednesday.

Prima facie, Saddam Hussain stabbed Mohammed Ayyaz with a pair of scissors in the throat, stomach and chest, before hanging himself, he said.

A case under Indian Penal Code sections for murder and accidental death has been registered and further investigation is underway.
