Air India Express has launched its new twice-daily flights between Nagpur and Bengaluru, strengthening its presence in Maharashtra and offering improved connectivity for travellers, an official statement said on Monday.
The inaugural Nagpur-Bengaluru flight departed at 10:00 hrs and arrived in Bengaluru at 12:05 hrs, while the first Bengaluru-Nagpur flight took off at 07:25 hrs, landing at 09:30 hrs.
A special ceremony was held at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, where passengers on the inaugural flight received commemorative boarding passes, it said.
According to the official statement, the new service connects Nagpur to Air India Express’ wide network, providing one-stop access to 29 domestic destinations and seven international locations. Bengaluru continues to serve as a major hub, with over 530 weekly direct flights, including recently launched routes to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh.
Air India Express is also set to launch direct flights from Navi Mumbai to Bengaluru and Delhi from December 25, 2025. Alongside its network expansion, the airline has partnered with Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival, offering a 15 per cent discount on flights to Dimapur and engaging travellers through social media contests and festival activities.
Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express said, "The new operations enhance connectivity between non-metro cities and major hubs. He added that the airline’s upgraded Boeing 737-8 cabins now feature superior legroom, in-seat USB charging, hot ‘Gourmair’ meals, refreshed interiors, and advanced mood lighting to provide a comfortable and enjoyable flying experience."
The airline’s ‘Tales of India’ initiative continues to celebrate regional art and culture through tail designs inspired by Warli paintings, Himroo and Paithani weaves, and other indigenous crafts from across India, the official statement said.
