Maharashtra cabinet approves major administrative overhaul, increases departments from 33 to 45

The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday approved a major restructuring of state government departments, increasing their number from 33 to 45 to improve administrative efficiency and decision-making. It also cleared amendments to the Maharashtra GST Act and MIDC Act

The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday approved a major restructuring of state government departments aimed at improving administrative efficiency and speeding up decision-making, while also clearing amendments related to higher education, goods and services (GST) laws and the borrowing powers of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

The decisions were taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
