Maharashtra drought: CM Fadnavis flags El Nino concerns as state begins crop-loss assessment in 265 talukas

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday raised concerns about the possibility of El Nino intensifying in the coming months as he announced that the state government has began crop-loss assessment in 265 drought-hit talukas, reported the PTI.
He said the weather pattern was expected to peak around February before weakening as the Pacific Ocean cools.
